Join us at our annual meeting

2017 AnnualMeeting HBDon’t miss this year’s annual meeting as we welcome Harriet Baskas  and her program: The Ancient Fruitcake: What Really, Really Old Food Tells Us about History, Culture, Love, and Memory.  We also elect officers during this meeting, recap the previous year and make plans for the upcoming year. Lunch is served with entertainment following.

We would love to see you at this free event at noon on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Lacey Library meeting room, 500 College Street SE.

Get your holiday on at October sale

We put out our holiday books during this book sale. Get the best selections on cookbooks, craft books, holiday-themed mysteries and more. Who knows what’s left by the time the December sale rolls around (remember, our sales are bi-monthly). Prices haven’t changed: $1 hardbacks, trade paperbacks and music CDs; 25-cent/5 for $1 small paperbacks and $3 DVDs.

2016-childrendayRemember to redeem your Children’s Day book sale coupon! Grab one from the Lacey Timberland Library booth at Huntamer Park and head on down to the sale. Coupons are good on Children’s Day only.

The $1 coupon can be applied toward any book and children’s books typically start at 25 cents.

Those looking for something different….we have relaunched our used book sales on Amazon. Some 100 titles are expected to be listed on our seller’s page.  Find more details on our Books for Sale page.

The Friends of the Lacey Library has two vacancies on its board of directors: historian and secretary. Only requirement is membership in the Friends group. (Not a member? Join us.)

The secretary is responsible for recording meeting minutes, while the the historian keeps track of Friends documents, both current and historical. Both are voting members and help shape Friends programs and its support of your Lacey Timberland Library, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

August 2016 book sale: The bonanza is baaack

Not only do we have a fabulous collection of cookbooks, Civil War books and books for collectors (antiques, anyone?), we have another fabulous giveaway during the last hour. All you need is a Friends of the Lacey Library book bag. This time, fill it as many times as you want with free books! Don’t have one yet? Buy a book bag at the sale for $2.50. Can’t stay for the free books? No worries, we have some of the best prices with $1 hardbacks and trade paperbacks, 25 cents for most children’s books and 5 for $1 small paperbacks. It won’t hurt the pocketbook at all!

Best selections are found early in the day; even better, join the Friends for the members-only Friday pre-sale. No special event during the pre-sale, but you get first pick.
