Sand, Snakes, and Silver Wings: Women Pilots of WWII on Nov. 3, 11 – 12 pm

Storyteller Rebecca Hom will share the stories of several Womens’ Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs), as well as the history of this program. The WASPs were an essential part of the US military’s air efforts during World War II. This civilian force of 1,100 women pilots served with pride and paved the way for the inclusion of female pilots in the US military. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lacey Timberland Library.
