PURPOSE: To encourage the public use and support of the library, supplement library services and materials; and provide programs in accordance with library policies and needs.

MEMBERS RECEIVE:  entrance to the Friday used book pre-sale; the appreciation of staff, volunteers, patrons and fellow Friends members; and the satisfaction of personally supporting a priceless community resource.

Funds are raised from private donations, membership dues and the sale of donated books.

Book sale volunteers needed

Book sales are held every other month on the first Saturday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, in February, April, June, August, October and December. A pre-sale for Friends members takes place from 1 pm to 4:30 pm on the Friday before the regular sale.  All activities take place in the Lacey Timberland Library meeting room.

Volunteers help in the following ways:

Friday pre-sale
8:45 am to 11:30 am–Set up tables and books.
1 pm to 4:30 pm–Restock books during sale and assist shoppers.

Saturday regular sale
9:15 am to 4:30 pm–Restock books during sale and assist shoppers.
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm–Prep the newest books for the next sale.

9 am to 11:30 am–Box up remaining books for storage and break down tables. (after sale)
8:30 am–Sort books for book sale (non-sale weeks)
